What Documents Do You Need To Finance A Car?
The document checklist to bring to the dealership so financing doesn't stall on your first visit.
The standard checklist
Valid driver's license. Proof of income — usually recent pay stubs, or bank statements and tax returns if you are self-employed. Proof of address, such as a utility bill or lease. Proof of insurance, or your agent's contact information. Your down payment. References are sometimes requested.
If you are trading in
Bring the title if you own the vehicle outright, or your lender and account number if there is a payoff. Bring all keys and the registration.
